If you’re anything like me, the phrase “Casual Friday” confuses you like no other. Personally my casual is a pair of yoga pants with an old sorority tank. But this is definitely not what is meant by the phrase. In an attempt to understand what was acceptable I studied a memo given to me on my first day at the job that listed exactly what could and couldn’t be worn to work. In all honesty this didn’t help much. For example under footware, I’m allowed to wear “casual shoes”…
The best way to really know what’s ok to wear is to look around your office. I quickly caught on to what “casual” really meant. Another way to learn how to dress is to walk around at lunch on Friday and see what people from other offices are wearing. The outfit below is inspired by the fashionable females I saw today at lunch.

Jacket, Shoes, Top, Necklace, Jeans
Friday is usually the only day that it’s ok to wear denim, but make sure your jeans aren’t too tight. I chose a straight-legged jean to steer clear of this issue. Also make sure your denim never has holes and tears in it. Save the acid-washed distressed look for the weekend. This outfit is overall very neutral which is why I chose a bright orange tunic to spice it up a bit. I also love this jacket! It’s a great color that can be worn with a mix of outfits. The statement necklace is truly a steal and again, the color makes it versatile. What’s best about this look is that by adding a great heel or wedge you can be ready to head out to happy hour after work.
So now I want to know, what is your favorite outfit for Casual Fridays? What are you allowed to wear?
